ROLE of the POSITION
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Vice President for Student Life, the Director position exists to provide the vision, direction, daily management, and oversight to the Student Union & Event Services (SUES) department. The department provides centralized scheduling and conference services for all SUES-managed facilities, green space, all classrooms not used for academic classes as well as partners with the Foundation Building and the Barrick Museum.
In conjunction with the Student Union & Event Services staff, the Director provides oversight of sales, marketing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, event scheduling and registration, event planning, legal and contracting components, and event management software. The Director is also responsible for the execution of event operations and logistics, custodial operations, and safety standards for the Student Union, Conference Housing Facilities and the associated green space, as well as development of policies and procedures for the Student Union & Event Services department requiring strong administrative and organizational skills
This position is responsible for the direct supervision of (2) Associate Directors, (1) Account Technician, (1) Administrative Assistant and the indirect supervision of 30+ staff members. The Director's responsibilities include the oversight of hiring, training, professional development, and evaluation of all staff levels.
Additional responsibilities include ability to work nights and weekends, on-call 24/7 duty for emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of three years of direct experience and supervision of full-time staff. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
