Job Summary:

Seeking a student assistant to help with a variety of tasks related to maintaining the smooth operation of the Chemistry Department office. Supervisor is Deidre Shymanski and pay is $15.59 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include ordering supplies, photocopying, filing, running errands, updating department information, creating spreadsheets, assisting with faculty requests, maintaining the department’s bulletin boards, and assisting with other tasks or projects as needed. Another duty is to help out with the department’s events, such as seminars and the annual banquet. Additional responsibilities will be assigned depending on the student’s skills. Student must commit to 5-6 hours per week.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

- Reliable, organized and detailed-oriented.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and take initiative.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

 

Preference will be given to Chemistry Majors/Minors in good academic standing. Work-study is also preferred.
