Post-/Doctoral position / Computational scientist (open rank) in Experimental Neuroimmunology

Updated: almost 2 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 11 Jun 2022

Why does the immune system attack the nervous system and what role do bacteria in our gut play in causing brain inflammation? If you are curious and motivated to decipher functional immune cell diversity and trafficking between the gut and the brain in neuroinflammatory diseases, get in touch with us!

The research group "Experimental Neuroimmunology“ at the Department of Biomedicine at the University of Basel / University Hospital of Basel is looking for a new team member with strong expertise in B cell repertoire and single cell transcriptomic analysis for an open rank position (PhD student / postdoc / staff).

You will be working on planning and designing experiments involving single cell and bulk transcriptome and immune profiling of patient samples and mouse tissues and will be leading and further developing our computational transcriptome and immune repertoire analysis pipeline.

We seek a dedicated and passionate team player with a strong computational background in transcriptome and B cell repertoire analysis to join our team. An experimental background in immunology is helpful but not required. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.

You will be part of a highly dynamic, interdisciplinary, international research team embedded in the translational research landscape at the University of Basel and the University Hospital of Basel. We offer ample opportunities for seminar and conference attendance and involvement in international collaborations.
