Your position

Within CoSi the position is associated to WP4 investigating the role of individual behavior for the Swiss energy system in an interdisciplinary team of psychologists, economists, and modelers. Contributing to these projects will require a sound background in economic concepts. The preferred candidate has a background in behavioral economics ideally in the field of energy and environmental policy and experience with numerical modelling techniques preferably agent based modelling. Programming skills are a plus.

The research group Energy Economics offers the opportunity to conduct high-level research in an inspiring environment, the opportunity for exchange and collaboration with other research groups of the department, an extensive network of research partners in Switzerland and abroad, and the chance to participate in courses of the Graduate School of Business and Economics at the University of Basel.


Your profile

Applicants should hold a Master's degree in economics, sociology, mathematics, sustainable development or related disciplines, be fluent in English, and be interested in pursuing an academic career. They should be willing to collaborate with members of the research team in ongoing projects and able to build up their own research portfolio, developing and following own research ideas. As our research team consists of researchers with diverse scientific background, an interest in interdisciplinary work is important.
