Offer Description

Applications are open for one research Studentship for students of a course that does not award an academic degree, within the framework of SmartRetail (SMART RETAIL - Contrato 00018 - IST-ID) financed by national funds PRR (Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência - C645440011-00000062), through IAPMEI -Agência para a Competitividade e Inovação

Workplan: The grant will take place in the scope of the project SmartRetail. The goal is the development and implementation of computer vision/deep learning algorithms for human pose estimation in occlusion scenarios.

Duration: The research fellowship will have the duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in April 2024 and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum of 12 months, including the duration of the initial contract.

It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents:

i) B1 Form – Fellowship application (https://ist-id.pt/concursos/bolsas/ );

ii) Curriculum Vitae;

iii)academic degree certificate;

iv) proof of enrollment at a course that does not award an academic degree (only after the selection of the candidates and for signing the grant contract);

v) motivation letter;

vi) declaration on honour that the applicant does not exceed with this contract an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions.

Benefits

Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_atualizacao-2024.pdf ), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is 1259,64 €, being the payment method an option of the Fellow by Wire Transfer.

Selection process

Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following i) Curriculum evaluation, ii) Computer Vision experience with a respective weight of 50%/50%. There may be a possible individual interview, eliminatory in nature, to be used only if the previous selection method is not enough for a decision.

 

Composition of the selection Jury: Professor João Paulo Costeira, João Pedro Gomes and Doctor Manuel Marques.

 

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.

Deadlines and procedures of complaint and appeal. A complaint may be lodged from the final decision within 15 working days, or an appeal to the Executive Board of IST-ID within 30 working days, both counted from the respective notification.
