The Institute of Mechanical Engineering – IDMEC is opening a call for
Research Studentships (for students of a course that does not award an academic degree)
Applications are open for 1 research studenship, for students of a course that does not award an academic degree, within the framework of ATE (Aliança para a Transição Energética), C644914717-00000023, financed under PRR Program, NestGenerationEU, under the following conditions:

Admission Requirements:
- Research Studentships (for students of a course that does not award an academic degree):
a) to hold a master degree and be enrolled at a course that does not award an academic degree and it is integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, performed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units; or declaration of honor in which undertakes to be enrolled until the grant's contract is done.
b) not to exceed with this contract, including the possible renovations, an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions.
Workplan and the objectives to achieve: Develop predictive models for multimodal transportation networks. Design surveys, collect and analyze urban transport data, and test and develop statistical models to predict transport demand and flows. These models should be applied to real case studies.
Legislation and Regulations: Statute of Scientific Research Fellow, approved by Law nr. 40/2004, of August 18, as worded by Decree-Law nr. 123/2019, of August 28; IDMEC Regulation for Research Studentships and Fellowships, available on https://www.idmec.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/
Workplace: The work will developed at IDMEC - Institute of Mechanical Engineering, being both the Host and Contracting Entity, and under the scientific supervision of Professor António Ramos Andrade.
Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 12 months. It’s expected to begin in may 2024, and it is not renewed.
Obtaining an academic degree during the term of the contract is not a reason for changing the contractual conditions.
Monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1259.64, being the payment method by Wire Transfer.
The selection methods will be the following: i) Curriculum evaluation (60%); ii) professional experience aligned with the workplan (40%).
Composition of the selection Jury: Professor António Ramos Andrade (president), Professor Virgínia Infante, Professor Jorge Ambrósio.
Selection minutes: Brief minutes of the jury meetings will be drawn up, indicating the names and affiliation of the jury members, the names of the excluded and admitted candidates, the criteria and respective assessment by candidate, ranking of candidates, and all decisions must have clear and sufficient grounds. The minutes must be accompanied by declarations of conflict of interest (CDI) of all members of the jury.
Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
After be notified, candidates have 10 working days to submit a formal rebuttal, by email.
Application deadline and formalization: The call is open in the period between 11th april and 24th april, until 18:00, 2024.
