Offer Description
Post-doctoral Research Grant within the project Project TRANSCoLAB PLUS: Laboratorio Colaborativo Transfronterizo para la transición verde del sector Agroalimentario y Agroindustrial (0112_TRANSCOLAB_PLUS_2_P), financed under the Interreg VI Cooperation in Spain – Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027.
The tender is open in the period between 04/03/2024 and 15/03/2024.
The main tasks of this plan are:
1) Training and mobility activities within the framework of the cooperative research network;
2) Participation in collaborative R&D projects related to natural products, reuse of resources and their industrial applications: extraction steps; structural elucidation by chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques; evaluation of bioactivities;
3) Technology transfer activities;
4) Science communication activities related to the results obtained within the framework of the project.
The post-doc scholarship will have a duration of 12 months, renewable for another 12 months, starting on 04/03/2024.

Skills/Qualifications
The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in the areas of Pharmacy and Health, Bromatology and Nutrition. Master’s degree in Chemistry of Natural Products. Experience and knowledge in the activities that will be carried out in the project.

2) Master’s degree in chemistry of Natural Products.
3) Suitability of the candidate's training and experience to the objectives of the work to be carried out;
4) Preparation of documents of a technicalscientific nature;
5) Experience in structural elucidation techniques and tests to assess diverse bioactivities;
6) Previous experience in collaborating on projects co-financed by European funds;
7) Participation in social and scientific organizations;
8) Dissemination of technical-scientific results.

Benefits
The amount of the grant corresponds to € 1.801,00 €, according to the table of values of the grantsawarded by FCT, I.P. in the country.
The fellow will also benefit from a personal accident insurance,and if not included in any social security protocol, may adhere to the Portuguese Social Security through the Seguro Social Voluntário (Voluntary Social Security), in the terms present in the Portuguese Código dos Regimes Contributivos do Sistema Previdencial de Segurança Social. The monthly salary will be payed monthly by bank transfer.

Selection process
a) Curriculum assessment and its suitability for the proposed work plan (60%);
b) Preparation of technical-scientific documents in the field of bioprospecting of natural matrices (15%)
c) Previous experience in methodologies for evaluating diverse bioactivities (15%);
d) Experience in science communication (10%);
The two best candidates, according to these criteria, may be called for a face-to-face interview and their classification will be weighted in item a) with a valuation of 40%.
The jury may not award the scholarship if the candidate's classification is lower than 9.5.
The jury will be composed of Doctor Lillian Barros (President of the Jury), Doctor Rui Abreu, and Doctor Maria José Alves.
The final results of the evaluation will be sent by email to the candidates.

Documents proving the ownership of academic degrees or diplomas, or enrollment in an academicdegree or diploma, may be dispensed with during the application stage, being replaced by adeclaration of honor by the candidate, although substantiation of this condition is mandatory duringthe grant contracting stage. Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require recognition by a Portuguese Institution inaccordance with Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16th and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25th. The presentation of the recognition is mandatory for the signing of the contract.
