1 (one) Research Grant (BI) for a Graduate within the scope of the EMERGING project: EMERGING MATERIALS: A proposal for an art collection from Academic Artistic Research in Portugal, with ref. 2022. 06772.PTDC, financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES, and in compliance with the provisions of article 6 and following of the FCT Research Grants Regulation, Regulation no. 950/2019, published in the Diário da República, 2 .ª Series, no. 241, of December 16th, amended by Regulation no. 643/2021, published in the Diário da República, 2nd Series, no. 135, of July 14th, under the following conditions:

1 - Admission requirements:

Be a master's student or graduate and be enrolled in a course that does not lead to an academic degree as part of the educational project of a higher education institution.

2 – Profile of candidates:

2.1 Bachelor's degree with a final average of no less than 15 points;

2.2 Preferably master's degree in interaction design or a related area.

3 - Preferential requirements:

i. Experience working in interaction design, preferably on digital platforms linked to contemporary art and culture;

ii. Experience in image editing and infographics design at the level of data visualization;

iii. Ability to work in a team and good organizational skills;

Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a final average of no less than 15 points;

Preferably master's degree in interaction design or a related area.

The candidate must be familiar with interaction design and the respective phases of the process: requirements, research, information architecture, personas, user journeys, wireframing, mockups and interface design, prototyping, user testing. Must be fluent in web standards (HTML, CSS and Javascript), user interface frameworks and the web technologies necessary to implement the website in CMS. In the communicational part and execution of the project, you must also collaborate: in the processing of the material to be published on the aforementioned website; monitoring the organization of the pop-up exhibition of the academic contemporary art proposal; in disseminating the project across various channels, networks of events agreed upon in the project.

Eligibility criteria

Eligibility of candidates

Candidates must meet the eligibility conditions set out in article 9 of the FCT I.P Research Grants Regulation (Regulation no. 950/2019, published in Diário da República, 2nd series, no. 241, of December 16th amended by Regulation no. 643/2021, published in the Diário da República, 2nd Series, no. 135, of July 14th).

Graduates who are enrolled in a master's degree or courses that do not lead to an academic degree can only be awarded to those who do not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of two years in that type of scholarship, followed or interpolated.

Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require registration by a Portuguese Institution, in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of August 16, and Ordinance no. 33/2019, of January 25. Presentation of the certificate is mandatory for signing the contract.


Selection process

The selection of candidates will be made through curriculum evaluation, in which the following parameters will be considered:

 

Criterion a) - curriculum vitae (10%)

Criterion b) - Experience in interaction design projects: 50%

Criterion c) - Average of the degree Course Units with content relevant to interaction design: 20%

Criterion d) - level of spoken and written English (10%)

Criterion e) - letter of motivation to join the project (10%)

The jury may, if it deems necessary, invite successful candidates to an interview. In this case, the interview will have a maximum weighting of 30%, to be added to the score obtained in the first selection phase, which will correspond to 70%.

5. Declaration on honor that you do not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, an accumulated period of one year in this type of scholarship, consecutive or interpolated, and have not already been the beneficiary of any other direct or indirectly financed by FCT;

6. Motivation letter;

7. Declaration of prior consent to the use of electronic means;

8. Other supporting documents considered relevant (e.g. level of spoken and written English).

11.3 In the case of academic degrees obtained in foreign higher education institutions, it is necessary to present the recognition of the degrees obtained, in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August, or, in the absence of recognition at the time of application, declaration under oath that you will make this recognition before the scholarship is contracted if the candidate is selected.
