About the position

Health logistics is an important part of HiMolde’s focus areas. The Faculty of Logistics is currently engaged in several ongoing research initiatives pertaining both primary and specialized healthcare services. The primary objective of these research projects is to utilize new digital technologies to enhance logistics operations and foster the establishment of a more sustainable healthcare sector. This necessitates close collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Currently, the local hospital is in the process of constructing a new facility known as SNR (Sjukehuset Nordmøre og Romsdal). The PhD scholarship position available is directly associated with the project titled "Logistics for the Future: Innovative Process Design for Optimal Patient Flow at Clinic SNR". The primary aim of this project is to develop and implement digital technologies that can be effectively utilized at SNR. The research project will involve conducting analysis on the influence exerted by digital technologies, while also investigating into the optimal utilization of this technology to enhance overall resource efficiency.


Qualifications

Your higher education must equate 5 years of full-time studies in top of the entry requirements for first cycle studies (Bachelor’s degree) in Norway. For some countries this means that you must have more than 5 years of what is called higher education in your home country. Your master’s degree (or equivalent) must constitute at least one full year of studies (60 ECTS), and must obtain an individual piece of student work, normally a master thesis. The minimum average grade of the master’s degree should be B or better on the ECTS grading scale, or an equivalent average grade on other grading scales. Additionally, applicants should have an educational background in health care science and preferably have experience working in the Norwegian healthcare field. The language requirements for the positions are fluency in English and Norwegian. We will also emphasize personal qualities.


We offer

The place of work is Molde, Norway. The appointment period is 3 years. The position will be remunerated at wage level 54 on the Norwegian State salary scale, with gross salary from NOK 532 200 a year, of which 2 % is deducted for the Norwegian State Pension Fund. A higher salary may be considered for especially qualified candidates. The appointment will be in accordance with current Norwegian regulations concerning fixed-term jobs in the public sector and guidelines for employment as a scholarship holder at universities and university colleges.
