We are looking for a Ph.D. student to join the new Gabilondo group in the University College Dublin (UCD) School of Chemistry. The project will broadly encompass the synthetic discovery of metastable, crystalline semiconductors, understanding their formation pathways, and the investigation of their optical and electronic properties. Applications for these new materials will target, but not be limited to, solar-driven photocatalysis and non-linear optics. This 4-year Ph.D. Studentship will ideally commence in either September 2026 or January 2027.
Details
Applications are welcome from students with, or expecting to gain, a degree in Chemistry at 1st class hons or 2:1 grade (or equivalent). The successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills (oral and writing) and integrity. This position will be filled once the suitable candidate has been identified so early applications are advised.
