About the position

Our research focuses on understanding the molecular pathways involved in the cellular response to DNA damage with particular focus on the nucleoli. We investigate how DNA damage occurs and how different types of lesions are important for the onset and progression of cancer. Furthermore, we investigate how DNA damage pathways can be exploited to improve therapeutic approaches. This project will specifically investigate the potential of nucleolar DNA damage response proteins as biomarkers and will be conducted in collaboration with Rigshospitalet (The University Hospital in Copenhagen). We will use established human cell culture models and samples from cancer patients in combination with state of the art high-throughput microscopy to address the questions of interest.
