announces a selection procedure 

Job title: Researcher - PhD student
Scientific department: Cell biology and epigenetics - laboratory for preparation of viral constructs
Project: GA ČR 23-05241S, Transcriptional regulation of Epstein–Barr oncovirus – biophysical implications for Rta-targeted therapy 

Size of workload: 0.6
Length of employment: till 31. 12. 2025 

Minimum educational attainment: University degree, master's degree or engineering degree
Qualification level: V2 (R1)
Professional requirements:

  • educated in biophysics, biochemistry, genomics, proteomics or related fields;
  • independence, reliability and ability to take responsibility for independent research tasks;
  • hands-on experimental experience with protein expression in mammalian and bacterial cell lines, purification and labeling of proteins and nucleic acids, determination of protein purity;
  • practical knowledge of methods of preparing protein constructs using cloning and mutagenesis in bacterial and mammalian cells;
  • expert knowledge of methods for the quantitative analysis of nucleoprotein complexes - methods of spectroscopic analysis of biomolecular interactions involving measurement of fluorescence anisotropy;
  • expert knowledge of methods of structural analysis of protein complexes - nuclear magnetic resonance and X-ray crystallography;
  • independent design of research experiments and procedures for the preparation of high purity biological samples;
  • excellent communication skills, good sense of teamwork and ability to professionally supervise students.
