Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Metabolic Disorders

One post-doctoral fellowship position focusing on “Damage to anti-inflammatory cholinergic signaling and the development of obesity-associated comorbidities” is available at the Laboratory of Metabolic Disorders, member of the Obesity and Comorbidities Research Center (OCRC), a Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center (RIDC) supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and hosted by the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), São Paulo state, Brazil.

Candidates must have:

a. completed their PhD;
b. extensive knowledge of cell and molecular biology techniques (emphasis on cell culture of neuronal precursor cells of the adult brain of mice);
c. Experience in evaluating epigenetic DNA alterations;
d. Viability and cell cycle analyze (biochemical and immunodetection by flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, transfection-siRNA, genotyping, microarray);
e. capacity to work in a multidisciplinary environment;
f. ability to work independently and preparing and submitting scientific articles.

The project will be conducted under the supervision of Marcio A. Torsoni, PhD, in the Laboratory of Metabolic Disorders (UNICAMP's Faculty of Applied Sciences in Limeira) and funded by FAPESP.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
