The project begins on 1st March 2022. The contract will initially be for 2 years and may be extended up to a further 3 years subject to a positive performance review and the project’s budget. The project team is led by Prof. Christina M. Kreinecker.


Eligibility criteria

The successful candidate• has completed a PhD in Theology (New Testament Studies), Classics or a related field.• has an excellent command of Greek and Coptic (Sahidic); additional knowledge of Bohairic is desirable.• has significant experience with working in the field of manuscript studies and textual criticism and is familiar with the tedious scrutiny of variant readings. Experience with the technicalities of electronic editions is desirable.• has an excellent command of English (project language) and sufficient competence in other languages to access relevant secondary literature.• is enthusiastic about manuscripts, hard-working, organised, independent and cooperative.• is willing to work in Leuven and to travel on project business (incl. conferences). Experience with working in research teams would be advantageous.
