Offer Description

The project consists of the following aspects:- You follow the doctoral program at the Faculty of Economics and Business of KU Leuven.- You prepare a doctoral dissertation in the domain of quantitative marketing, more specifically on the recent trends and evolutions within the domain of retailing and pricing (both offline and online) under the supervision of Kathleen Cleeren and/or Marco Kotschedoff. - You get the opportunity to participate in national and international projects, to follow seminars, and to present the research in Belgium and abroad.- You aim to publish the findings in (English) peer-reviewed scientific journals, and also actively look for other forms of science communication. - You become an active member of a young and dynamic research group, with a pleasant working environment for everyone who has an interest in doing scientific research at an international level.- You supervise students in the Bachelor- and Master programs of Humanities and Social Science, including master theses and company projects.- You have a (limited) contribution to the teaching portfolio of the research center marketing.

Benefits

We offer a full-time employment for 4 years at the research center marketing of the faculty of Economics and Business (KU Leuven, Campus Antwerp). The start date can be agreed upon and is flexible (the latest September 30 2024). There is the possibility to follow methodological courses in Belgium as well as outside Belgium, and to follow conferences that allow one to specialize in the subject.


Eligibility criteria

We are looking for a student who:- obtained a Master degree in (Applied) Economics, Commercial Engineering or Business Administration, or a related discipline (Psychology, Sociology or Statistics), or will have such a degree at the start of the academic year 2024-2025.- obtained, on average, distinction during the studies and satisfies the entrance requirements of the doctoral program (https://feb.kuleuven.be/ research/PhD/business economics/Business).- has a strong interest in scientific research within marketing analytics, and has experience with quantitative research and statistical/ econometric analyses (by analyzing (large) data sets with software programs such as STATA, R, or Python).- has strong communication skills and likes to work in a team, but can work independently as well.- has the skills to analyze theoretical papers and empirical studies critically.- has a fluent (scientific) writing style, in English.- is able to bring the PhD trajectory to a successful conclusion, with the necessary supervision.
