The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate’s employment at the University.  The University recently applied for a temporary variation to its Enterprise Agreement.  Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Fixed term position for twelve months with the possibility of extension

Conduct research in the emerging field of Metal-organic framework (MOF) bio-composites and develop important steps towards enabling technology for novel biocatalysts and sensing devices

The successful candidate is expected to undertake their own research as part of a growing team supervised by a group of three academics in Chemistry, to take a leadership role within the team, and to interact successfully with students, collaborators, supervisors and funders. The successful candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills with the desire to seek their own independent funding by capitalising on the opportunities provided.

To be successful you will need:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Biochemistry
  • Advanced skills and experience in the synthesis and characterisation of extended materials
  • Advanced skills in handling proteins
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (i.e. conference presentations, manuscript preparation, grant preparation)
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary and international Chemistry program

University sponsorship for visas will not be possible for this role.
