Offer Description

(Level A) $75,888 to $102,040 or (Level B) $107,276 to $126,894 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term, full time position available for 2 years with a possibility to extend.

About the project: We are seeking a highly motivated Molecular and Cell Biologist to lead mechanistic studies in epigenetic regulation. The focus of these studies is to understand how chromatin-modifying complexes regulate gene expression and their implications in cancer.

About Us: We are a very young, dynamic and international team at South Australian immunoGENomics Cancer Institute (SAiGENCI), University of Adelaide. The Zhang lab is well-supported, with funding from a generous start-up package as well as external grants from the Australian Research Council (ARC) and the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). Available Resources: The successful candidate will have ON-SITE ACCESS to core equipment for epigenetics such as imaging, flow cytometry, NGS sequencer, etc. Additionally, resources available include the Phoenix high-performance computing (HPC), Adelaide Microscopy, Adelaide Proteomics Centre, South Australia Genome Editing Facility (SAGE) etc.

To be successful you will need: 

• A Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, epigenetics or relevant fields with an excellent publication record. 
• Extensive experience in molecular biology and genomics techniques, particularly in studying transcription and epigenetic regulation using mammalian cell lines. Key techniques include IP, IP-MS, ChIP-seq, ATAC-Seq, CUT&RUN/Tag, RNA-seq, RIP, etc.
• Proven experience in genome editing and genomic engineering using mammalian cell lines.
• Experience in genetic screens, working with stem cells and mouse models, and knowledge of developmental biology and cancer biology (highly advantageous expertise but not required).
• Skill in coding (R and/or Python) and familiarity with working on Linux-based clusters (highly advantageous expertise but not required).
