The School of Clinical Medicine (SoCM) focuses on the delivery of both phases of the Medicine program giving students the opportunity to learn and practise the clinical skills needed to be highly competent doctors. With eleven clinical sites within the Brisbane metropolitan area, the school consists of academic staff members across all clinical disciplines and more than 2500 academic title holders. About This Opportunity

This is a new and exciting opportunity to build the capacity of clinical, academic and professional staff to provide an effective and consistent student support system across the School of Clinical Medicine’s (SOCM) clinical placement sites. 

A key part of this role will be serving as the liaison point between the Academic Lead for the Personal Advisor Network , Heads of Clinical Units, the Student Academic Support Leads, and the Medical Student Support Team.

Moreover, you will also: develop systems to identify support for students on placement, provide reports on the network for continuous improvement, and contribute to the Medical Program Aspirations Sub-Committee.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking candidates with experience in student support (approximately 5 years), including student advocacy and the ability to engage effectively in the scholarship of teaching and learning. The successful appointee will have a high level of communication skills with the ability to establish rapport, build effective relationships and represent the University and the work area within healthcare, academic and/or community settings. You will have strengths in leadership, work effectively with mixed teams of academic and professional staff and be able to manage disparate interests in academic and clinical environments.

It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to provide evidence of immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases.

What We Can Offer

This is a part-time (0.2FTE), continuing position at Academic level C. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $119,548 - $137,846 plus super of up to 17%.
