Summary of Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Payroll Manager, lead other fiscal technicians and perform a variety of complex and specialized duties in the processing, maintenance and distribution of University payrolls to assure employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner; prepare, process, maintain and assure accuracy of a variety of manual and automated employee payroll documents, information, records and reports; train and provide work direction and guidance to the Payroll Production team. Maintain an environment of continuous improvement. Some overtime will be required
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent; two years of general clerical or fiscal experience, which includes six months of directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated ability using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
Payroll processing experience.
Experience with the WSU mainframe accounting systems.
Experience with DEPPS or HEPPS data entry system.
Experience leading or supervising employees.
Possess good computer skills, specifically working in a Microsoft Windows environment with an emphasis on Word, Excel and Access.
