The role

The Senior Specialist Manager Total Rewards and Performance will work in the Workforce Transformation office to design, develop and implement various total reward initiatives across the University, ensuring market competitiveness and alignment to RMIT’s strategy. The position will work closely with HR Leadership Team for the delivery and implementation of related annual remuneration cycle, providing high level advice and recommendations on matters associated with performance, reward, global staff mobility, and talent management. 

In addition, this role will provide strategic and expert advice and recommendations in relation to executive and senior appointments, the Vietnam leadership team, university managers and Human Resources staff on matters relating to performance and reward.  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Design, develop and implement total reward strategies and initiatives ensuring affordability, staff engagement, and aligned to market best practice as part of Workforce Transformation Project

  • Work closely with relevant members of the HR Leadership Team in management of the annual staff and executive salary review, gender pay gap analysis, and performance processes.

  • Provide compensation and benefits related advice and recommendations to Senior Executives and the Pro Vice Chancellor, Vietnam.

  • Recommend changes and provide advice on key RMIT University wide projects that impact performance and reward.

  • Conduct internal and external benchmark studies to ensure that the organization’s salaries, incentives and retention strategy are competitive and responsive to the market.

  • Manage remuneration and reward practices including but not limited to market benchmarking, executive reward, development of reward related programs, and classification review.

  • Work closely with HR Business Partners and Senior Management to provide advice, recommending actions to achieve the desired business outcome whilst maintaining alignment to applicable principles.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related field and extensive international experience in a similar role is required.
  • Extensive experience in managing the remuneration, global staffing, position classification, and staff benefits function in a large complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing remuneration and benefits strategy and framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with extensive experience in the preparation, submission and presentation of Remuneration and Reward papers to Executive Committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and interpret data relating to the employee lifecycle, linking it back to performance and salary.
  • Desirable to have experience on advising on mobility programs for international assignments including taxation compliance and immigration legislation.
  • Ability to build strong external and internal relationships and provide advice on reward to all levels of an organisation.

The role located in HCMC Vietnam, is open for both local and expatriate candidates.

As an expatriate candidate you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam. To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years’ senior management related experience. 

English Proficiency

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) with a score of at least 7.0 or 170 in Lingua Skills.
