Job Summary
The primary roles of the (VT2) Video Tier 2 Escalation Group is to serve as the main escalation point for operational support and troubleshooting for UETN Distance Education stakeholders and the various IVC system, services, devices, and platforms. This includes cooperative collaboration with the VT1, Logistics, Application Engineering and FOPS departments in the planning, design, implementation, and escalation support of video-telecommunications systems. Familiarity with standard network video concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions

• Escalation troubleshooting support for core IVC systems platforms, services, and endpoint devices.
• Proactive and reactive maintenance assistance of IVC core systems, endpoint equipment and technologies.
• Primary set up and configuration of new IVC endpoint equipment and associated hardware.
• Provide support to the FOPS group for the installation and standards certification processes for new and upgraded IVC endpoint equipment and technologies.
• Collaboration with NOC and FOPS staff for the installation, testing and troubleshooting of new IVC endpoint device connectivity needs based on current network practices and standards.
• Management and oversight of the TAC and RMA processes for IVC equipment repair, upgrade, and replacement.
• Assistance with the design and implementation of new and updated UC and IVC related equipment and technologies.
• Assistance with the review, evaluation, and vetting processes of emerging IVC and related distance education platforms and technologies.
• Administration and support of the Technical Services operations groups (Video, Network and Security) UCM phone system and user devices.
• Analysis and recommendations for operational efficiencies regarding organizational and departmental practices and procedures.
• Assistance with producing performance analytics related to operational status, reliability, and utilization of IVC systems, equipment, and related technologies.
• Act as representatives of UETN and the IVC department to its partners, peer staff and stakeholders throughout the state and in associated industry forums and groups.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires five years related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), including a strong background in audio, video, and data networks.
Preferences
The ideal candidate will possess the following skillsets and knowledgebase:
• A strong understanding of current network and video tele-conferencing (VTC) protocols, standards, concepts, and trends; QoS, SIP, HTTP/HTTPS, H.323, H.264, H.265, H.460, etc.
• A capable knowledge of data network and VTC applications, software, and hardware technologies (TMS, MCU, CMS, CMM, Webex, Zoom, VCS, and the Cisco acquired video technologies portfolio), as well as other vendor network and video-conferencing platforms and hardware. Knowledge of IP Telephony and UCM environments a plus.
• An applicable understanding of Cisco Expressway and VCS registration systems.
• An applicable understanding of various live streaming and recording technologies and processes. • Demonstrable ability to remotely support statewide users of the aforementioned technologies in a Tier 2 escalation capacity.
• Exposure to and understanding of network video tele-conferencing design and integration concepts.
• At least two years or more experience of troubleshooting duties in a technology related Help Desk/Call Center environment with the ability to implement, test, operate and troubleshoot audio and video-conferencing equipment.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
