Job Profile Summary

Broward College is conducting a search for a new Vice President, Workforce Education and Strategic Partnership. The college is seeking an effective leader to join an exceptional culture, team, and institution. The individual selected for this leadership role will deepen the connections with the college and the local community.
The Vice President, Workforce Education and Strategic Partnership, reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President, is a key leadership role focused on external partnerships and workforce development programs. An essential aspect of this role is building and maintaining external partnerships that align and augment the College's existing services. The Vice President plays a vital role in connecting local employers and the greater community with Broward College. This position ensures that Broward College’s program offerings are meeting the evolving needs of the global workforce as well as creating specialized programs that uniquely connect the community to the college.
The position provides leadership for planning and management of several community outreach workforce development projects designed to positively impact educational attainment in Broward County, Florida. The Vice President, Workforce Education and Strategic Partnership also provides leadership in the engagement of local municipalities, agencies, and employers in collaboration with other college programs.
The role is central to the college's mission, vision, and strategic goals, enhancing its impact on workforce development and community enrichment.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Fifteen or more years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of career and adult education and/or workforce development, corporate training, and higher education administration. 
  • Experience with grant management and compliance.

Essential Functions:

  • Weekly - 15%: Lead strategic initiatives related to external partnerships, workforce development, including operational and fiscal reporting.
  • Weekly - 15%: Guide internal stakeholders in developing and implementing strategies and programs that align with the College’s goals in workforce development and economic development.
  • Weekly - 10%: Oversee budget planning and administration for the department.
  • Weekly - 15%: Represent the college in local, state, and national community and professional organizations; engage in speaking opportunities and participate in community programs related to workforce development.
  • Weekly - 15%: Leads the development of metric driven accountability and system of tracking data for partnership impact. Provides analysis and reports for tracking, reporting, and measuring enrollment, attainment, and employment outcomes. Reviews and makes recommendations as necessary.
  • Weekly - 5%: Collaborate on workforce and economic development contracts, ensuring compliance and adherence to college policies.
  • Weekly - 5%: Establish partnerships with government agencies, regional councils, and local business and industry groups.
  • Weekly - 5%: Collaborate with appropriate academic administrators in program development and evaluation.
  • Weekly - 5%: Assists in the development and support of departmental procedures in support of strategic partnerships when appropriate.
  • Weekly- 5%: Leads the development and implementation of a unified strategic partnership approach for job readiness, work-based learning, and job placement for all students.
  • As Needed - 5%: Perform additional duties as required.
