The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) provides the highest standard of total veterinary care for your beloved animal patients while helping train the next generation of veterinarians. The Veterinary Radiological Technologist I will perform and assist with basic imaging exams within the Large Animal Radiology department. Successful candidates will have a desire to learn new skills. The veterinary field is always evolving, and this position allows you to further develop and advance your skills.

The VMTH offers additional incentives for our veterinary technician staff to balance their careers, family, and pets. Shift differential pay is available for eligible shifts. There is opportunity for career ladder advancement as well as opportunity for licensed veterinary technicians to work towards specialty certification. The Blinn College Veterinary Technology Program is housed in the same building as the VMTH. There are flexible work schedules for evening, overnight and weekend shifts in some service areas of the VMTH.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Associate degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science or a related area, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Large animal handling experience.

Salary Range: $13.01 - $16.72 per hour (based on experience)

Work Schedule: Must have the ability to work alternative shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call duty.

Position Details: Candidates should have the ability to work around animals, hay, or dust.

Essential Personnel: This position is considered crucial when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc., and are therefore required to report to work and remain on duty unless or until relieved by their direct supervisor.
