Job Summary
The STL position focuses on training, logistical support, and assisting the Program Manager with managerial tasks within the trip’s program. The STLs will assist not only with the Trips Program but additionally help outfit UExplore courses, and work with the Outdoor Leadership Floor. This role will have a greater presence in OA, working 10-15 hours (pay for these office hours is based upon your hourly rate, with a raise for moving into a supervisory role) in the office (based in the Trip Cage.)
Campus Recreation Services is located at the George S. Eccles Student Life Center, which connects student Life with academic life to create an engaged campus community. Amenities include a 50-meter pool, indoor and outdoor leisure pools, large indoor hot tub/spa, 320-yard indoor running track, bouldering and 4-story climbing wall, 5 sport courts, racquetball courts, 4 group fitness studios, and a combative room. Additional amenities include a branch of the U First Credit Union, Shake Smart, four sand volleyball courts and an outdoor basketball court.

This position is work study eligible, but work study is not required.
Responsibilities
· Assist the Program Manager in the planning and execution of adventure trips and programming.
· Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating outdoor technical skill training for trip leaders.
· Coordinate and develop programs for the Outdoor Leadership Floor.
· Enforce CRS policies and guidelines, and work with managers to resolve conflicts within the trips leader program.
· Assist in the management and operations of the trip leader work area (cage).
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Attend Beginner Outdoor Leadership Training (BOLT) – after hire.
  • Have been in the trip leader role for at least two semesters
  • Have led/been on two overnight trips.
  • Be able to do 10-15 hours of in-office work per week
  • Facilitate a new or refresh technical skill training once per semester.
  • Work a minimum of 2 trips per semester, one of which must be overnight.
