Position Summary | Governors State University, a minority serving institution, seeks applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, renewable position as University Lecturer in Mathematics, beginning in August 2023. We seek candidates with outstanding teaching skills. Duties of the successful applicant will include teaching lower division mathematics courses, including college algebra, statistics, and applied calculus. The majority of our Mathematics students are students of color, and nearly two-thirds of them receive Pell grants. Preference will be given to those candidates dedicated to these students’ success in Mathematics, part of GSU’s mission to advance social justice, equity and inclusion. Women, people of color, people with disabilities, and first-generation college graduates are especially encouraged to apply. Governors State University is the only regional public comprehensive university in Chicago’s south suburban area, serving more than 5,500 students annually.
