Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Position Duties and Responsibilities
 Represent the University both on-and off-campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
 Represent the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at high school visits, college fairs and other recruitment programs.
 Respond to student telephone, mail and email inquiries and record communication interactions through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
 Utilize technology to enhance communication with prospective students and assist with yield for admitted students.
 Acquire knowledge and understanding of Wayne State University academic programs and student services to educate prospective students and their families about the University's strengths, and thereby enable the successful recruitment and enrollment of new undergraduate students.
 Interpret and enforce department and University policies, procedures and regulations to students, guidance counselors, parents, and constituents.
 Perform other duties as assigned.
Unique Duties
 This position requires recruitment to high schools and community colleges in the Chicagoland area and other markets as assigned; with the ability to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment.
 Some evening and weekend hours required.
 Must have valid driver's license and must be willing to use own vehicle, at certain times, for travel.
 Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
 A valid driver's license and the ability to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary.
 Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
 Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
 Familiar with Chicagoland area.
 Familiar with Program development, evaluation and reporting experience.
 Basic familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and database software tools.
 Should possess high energy, attention to detail and the ability to organize effectively.
 Proficiency in a language other than English.
