Job Description Summary

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for the operations, monitoring, and safe and efficient operation of the tool room, shops, hangar, and ramp areas. Assist in coordinating the operations of the tool room including ordering, issuing, assisting with inventory, controlling of special tools, parts, equipment, and consumables for faculty and students.
This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans’ Preference pursuant to Florida Statute 295. Certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for
postsecondary educational requirements, in the employment by the state and its political subdivisions and are encouraged to apply for the positions being filled.

Minimum Education:

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Three years of related experience required.
  • Intermediate knowledge, understanding, and skills in area of responsibility required.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily -35%: Responsible for the operations, monitoring, and safe and efficient operation of the tool room, shops, hangar, and ramp areas
  • Daily -30%: Assists in coordinating the operations of the tool room including ordering, issuing, assisting with inventory, controlling of special tools, parts, equipment, and consumables for faculty and students
  • Daily -20%: Maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned
  • Daily -10%: Inspects tools and equipment for defects.
  • Daily - 5% Performs related duties as assigned.
