Job Summary:

This position will focus on projects under National Science Foundation research project titled “Neural mechanisms of agency in motor control and sensorimotor learning”. This role will assist in coding and analyzing the data. RAs will be involved in data collection and preliminary analysis alongside a team of leading cognitive researchers The University of Chicago and the National Science Foundation. This position is a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of cognitive neuroscience. This position provides research support activities related to sensorimotor learning including data analysis, data collection with human subjects (behavioral and electrophysiological), and research dissemination. Primary data collection in the Biopsychological Research Building and Psychology buildings (Kelly, Beecher, Green) located on the University of Chicago campus. RA will meet frequently with research team to communicate ongoing progress and findings.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include assisting with EEG and fMRI acquisition from human subjects.
  • Recruitment of human subjects.
  • Imaging from human subjects.
  • Managing data files and database.
  • Following established procedures or protocols.
  • Collaborating with other university labs.

Additional Requirements ​​
 

Education, Experience, or Certifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Masters Degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Experienced in analysis and modeling of EEG, fMRI datasets preferred.
  • Experienced in handling large datasets preferred.
  • Experienced in advanced statistical analyses preferred.
  • Include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline, preferably hands on experience in EEG data collection preferred.

Technical Knowledge or Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with at least one statistical package required, STATA, R, Jamovi, SPSS, or similar statistical analysis package.
