JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Oversees department-wide technology projects.
  • Works with departments to understand user requirements.
  • Proposes technical solutions.
  • Gathers information and provides estimates for project completion.
  • Contacts and manages relations with outside contractors for project completion.
  • Coordinates project from proposal stage through installation.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Assumes responsibility for success of specific technology deployment at Emory College.
  • Good customer service, analytical, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Leads strategic efforts to identify and deploy technologies that support the teaching and learning mission of the Emory College.
  • Designs and implements support models.
  • Administers enterprise-wide systems and applications to ensure operability of services and provide a highly available, secure, and robust academic technology infrastructure.
  • Manage equipment and infrastructure deployment into supported rooms and facilities and/or deploys enterprise-wide software applications for use by Emory College.
  • Consults with Emory College and University partners to identify new and evolving technology solutions.
  • Compiles system metrics to develop management reports and share performance information with Emory College staff.
  • Ensures systems and applications comply with required mandates and best practices.
  • Provides customer support to troubleshoot advanced-level technical problems, ensure productivity, and to maintain system operability for ECAS applications and systems.
  • Develops step-by-step documents, videos and web-based guides to support the user community and promote self-service.
  • Reviews proposals for new technologies, and makes recommendations to management based on technology and financial support requirements.
  • Partners with vendors and other campus experts to evaluate user technology requirements and offer effective, innovative and supported solutions.
  • Provides leadership in the evaluation, test, implement, upgrade, and/or purchase new systems, applications, or services.
  • Manages technical vendor relationships to gather input for user profiles and designs and to remain current with new versions and fixes.
  • Provide project management as required or determined by business need.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years of experience in implementing technical requirements to support business applications.
  • OR a bachelor's degree and three years of experience in implementing technical requirements to support business applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in systems and/or application administration.
  • Experience in instructional technology support in higher education.
  • Knowledge of technical project management.
  • Knowledge in relevant scripting/programming languages such as SQL, VBS, and PowerShell
  • Experience with facilities management and construction.
  • Technical skills related to the administration of Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of the applications and design of current classroom audiovisual and multimedia technology.
  • Strong skills in configuring and troubleshooting software and hardware.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform duties off hours when system crises arise or during scheduled maintenance.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
