Technical Analyst 3
Requisition ID req28255
Working Title Technical Analyst 3
Position Grade 14
Position Summary

UNM IT is looking for a Technical Analyst who is passionate about empowering students and faculty to participate in higher education. If you are concerned about college affordability and student success, and you want to help ensure that the digital divide doesn’t leave the diverse population of our state behind, this position may be for you. As part of the Learning Management Systems team, this position will provide application support for integrations between UNM Canvas (the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) by Instructure, Inc.), third-party textbook providers, and other teaching and learning tools requested by faculty for use in their courses. The rapid expansion of digital technologies has provided an opportunity to dramatically decrease the cost of textbooks for students through the use of digital textbooks and Open Educational Resources (OER) that replace expensive textbooks with content that can be shared in the public domain.

Funded in part by a three-year grant from the US Department of Education, this position will provide technical support for the New Mexico OER Consortium Program (NMOER-CPP) as well as provide support for UNM’s broader teaching and learning goals. Led by the University of New Mexico (UNM), the NMOER-CPP will build on state investments in equitable education, including the NM Opportunity Scholarship, the NM Lottery Scholarship, and State Bill 192. The goal of the grant is to create a Consortium of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (UNM, CNM, and Santa Fe Community College to start) joined by three workforce partners, a university press, and an educational technology expert to create OER materials that respond to the needs of New Mexico’s unique student population and provide a foundation for more concerted statewide OER efforts.

As the Technical Analyst, this position will work under limited supervision to provide technical support for the NMOER-CPP’s efforts and also ensure that third-party applications integrated with UNM Canvas are well vetted and meet the university’s standards for accessibility, security, privacy, and functionality. If you are selected for this position, you will be joining a passionate team of technical staff who are dedicated to supporting educational opportunities in New Mexico.
