Supervisor, Clinic Assistants

Responsible for the supervision of the daily activities of clinic assistants. Assists with planning, organizing, and scheduling for the daily expected volumes. Ensures all staff members adhere to all established policies and procedures related to the clinical operations and continuously monitors compliance. Make suggestions on process changes that will improve overall performance. Liaison with referring physicians as well as patients to make sure that the medical procedures are properly arranged in advance. 

      Minimum Requirements are: High school diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred. Three years’ relevant work experience required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills to interact with patients. Experience in registration/insurance verification or in a healthcare related field is required. Should have a broad and deep knowledge of all areas as well as related areas. Excellent customer service skills are required. Must have organizational skills. Ability to lead, motivate and direct subordinate. Ability to communicate with all levels of employees; customer-oriented. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of MS office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of routine office practices and procedures. Knowledge of simple data processing and transmission principles. Ability to utilize computerized information systems. Ability to read and decipher data on source documents to be entered. Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy and a reasonable rate of speed. Must have a good attitude about working under pressure. Equivalent combinations of education/experience may be considered

Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University of Miami School of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination.
