Position Summary
The Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering is seeking an Industry Advisor to independently perform a wide variety of work requiring a broad set of skills including leadership, problem-solving, organization, communication, coaching, survey creation, data collection & analysis, event planning and coordination with other areas within BME. The majority of work falls within the categories of Student Professional Development, Relationship Building, Events and Data Management. This role will also arrange and facilitate skills workshops for students with outside professionals, as needed. as well as participate in annual sophomore orientation. As well as advise students on topics related to career paths, as well as job opportunities, applications, and offers, both individually and in small group settings. Coordinate and organize alumni career panels for students to learn about different professional career paths.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prior experience advising and working with students on professional development, assisting students with internships and job opportunities.

Knowledgeable of career-related resources for students at both UNC and NCSU
