Job Summary
We are seeking for a dedicated and ethical student research assistant to contribute in a project to study colorectal cancer. The student will be implementing reinforcement learning algorithms using Python. SL/machine learning is expected in this position. Expectations will be: Reading research papers to build the background knowledge for the project and to understand specific data processing strategies and algorithm implementations. Implementing Python codes (understanding and editing written code by others and writing and editing own code). Reporting and presenting work progress on a regular basis. Writing research papers. The topics covered in Ch3 of Reinforcement Learning: An Introduction (available at http://incompleteideas.net/book/first/ebook/the-book.html ) will be discussed.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Coding experience in any programming language, introductory level background in machine learning, majoring in EE/CPE/CS, motivation for the project, good time management
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience
Coding experience in Python, prior experience implementing machine learning algorithms, research experience, knowledge in reinforcement learning, familiarity with information theoretic concepts
