Post Doctoral Research Fellow/Research Scientist

The laboratory of Dr. Pedro L Vera at the Lexington VA Health Care System is looing to hire a post-doctoral research fellow or Research Scientist. This position will be part of a multi-year funded project to examine spinal mechanisms of persistent bladder pain. The work will use behavior methods to assess bladder pain in rodents and the effect of pharmacological interventions.

Qualifications:

• Must be a US Citizen or Resident Alien (green card holder)
• PhD and/or MD in a related field and at least one first-author publication in a peer reviewed journal
• Experience with small animal surgery is required
• Experience with in vivo bladder physiology in mice is preferred
• Experience with measuring pain behaviors in mouse models is preferred
• Experience with general lab procedures such as histology, immunohistochemistry, western blotting, RT-PCR is required
