Job Summary
 

The Student Assistant will support TRIO/Student Support Services on the Armstrong and Liberty Campuses beginning Fall 2024. 
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.


Responsibilities
 
  • Assist students by answering subject specific questions and in identifying and overcoming mechanical problems.
  • Works with students to improve problem solving skills.
  • Assists TRIO participants with class assignments.

Shift Specifics

  • Up to 6 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

 


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

  • Successful completion of one or more of the following courses, or equivalent courses, with a grade of B or better: 
    • MATH 1111 (College Algebra)
    • MATH 1112 (College Trigonometry)
    • MATH 1441 (Calculus I)

    • MATH 2130 (Discrete Mathematics)
    • MATH 2160 (Linear Algebra)
    • MATH 3230 (Ordinary Differential Equations)

    • CHEM 1211 (Principles of Chemistry I)
    • CHEM 1212 (Principles of Chemistry II)
    • BIOL 1107 (Principles of Biology I)

Proposed Salary
 

$13.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
