In this role, you will: Provide age-appropriate assessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of patients and families served. Use independent judgment to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing diagnostic ultrasound systems for our referring providers and our interpreting physicians. Obtain, evaluate and use information from the patient requisition, medical records, referring physician and correlate with acquired images. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and differentiate anatomy and pathology. When necessary, take appropriate additional images to further characterize findings. Observe and practice all Service Standards listed in the “World Class Practices”. Always exercise courtesy whenever patients, family members, visitors and co-workers are present. This position will support the Westwood and Santa Monica region, primarily on the Westwood Campus; providing patient care in our inpatient and outpatient settings. This position participates in on-call, holiday, and weekend rotation schedules as prepared by the manager. Additionally, participation in rotating shifts is required, as needed. Staff Sonographer: * One to two years experience within the hospital / acute care setting * Must maintain active RDMS certification in one specialty, i.e. Abdomen or OB-GYN * Graduate of CAAHAP accredited ultrasound program is strongly preferred * Salary Range: $54.31 – $71.66 Hourly Senior Sonographer: * Minimum of five years of prior experience within the hospital / acute care setting * Must maintain Active RDMS certification in two specialties: Abdomen and OB-GYN * Proficient in Abdomen, OB/Gyn, Pediatric and Vascular Sonography. Additionally, proficiency in interventional procedures * Graduate of CAAHAP accredited ultrasound school is strongly preferred * Advancement into Senior Sonographer job classification will be assessed after one year with UCLA Health * Salary Range: $60.61 – $73.90 Salary Range: $54.31 – $73.90

Staff Sonographer: * One to two years experience within the hospital / acute care setting * Must maintain active RDMS certification in one specialty, i.e. Abdomen or OB-GYN * Graduate of CAAHAP accredited ultrasound program is strongly preferred * · Salary Range: $54.31 – $71.66 Hourly Senior Sonographer: * Minimum of five years of prior experience within the hospital / acute care setting * Additionally, proficiency in interventional procedures * Graduate of CAAHAP accredited ultrasound school is strongly preferred * Advancement into Senior Sonographer job classification will be assessed after one year with UCLA Health * · Salary Range: $60.61 – $73.90 Salary Range: $54.31 – $73.90 Staff Ultrasound Technologist * At least 1 year of acute care (hospital) experience – required * RDMS credential in one specialty (Abdomen or OBGYN) – required Senior Ultrasound Technologist * 5 years of prior acute care (hospital) experience – required * RDMS credential in Abdomen and OBGYN – required * · BLS/CPR Certificate – required * · Graduate of CAAHAP ultrasound program – strongly preferred * · AAS or higher in Medical Sonography – preferred * · RDMS (AB or OBGYN) – required * · Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, staff and others in a professional and courteous manner * · Ability to respond effectively and efficiently to needs of patients, physicians and referring services * · Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately * · Ability to identify and recognize contraindications for exams. (Radiology Only) * · Ability to employ independent decision making, prioritize work, while handling multiple tasks to completion within allotted time * · Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness * · Basic typing skills to input various data into RIS and HIS Information systems. * · Knowledge of medical terminology with the ability to distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses * · Understand the requirements of the EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act)
