  • OPPORTUNITY

    UW Medical Center - Montlake – Rehabilitation has an outstanding opportunity for a PART-TIME, .6 FTE, day shift, SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST 1.

    The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering speech/language pathology evaluation and intervention to patients with communication and swallowing disorders, as referred by a licensed provider. 

    WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?


  • Administer treatments as determined by the evaluation in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.
  • Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
  • Assist to develop clinical programs for optimum patient care and service. Participate in operational aspects, performance improvement, and Quality Improvement activities within the department.
  • Provide input in formulating budget, assist in evaluation of departmental performance, and take action to remain in budget guidelines.
  • Ensure that patient charges and documentation are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Supervise students, volunteers, and office assistants.
  • Participate in infection control, equipment training, compliance, safety and educational programs, both at the departmental and organizational level.

  • WHAT’S NEEDED?
  • A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology or Communicative Disorders or equivalent degree approved by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.

  • WHAT’S DESIRED?
  • One or more years of experience as a speech pathologist or equivalent.
  • Experience/competencies in Acute Medical-Surgical hospital

  • LICENSE REQUIRED

    Current State Licensure in Speech Pathology (as Speech-Language Pathologist).
