Specialty Practice Pharmacist - Strategy & PI

The Pharmacist strategy and PI specialist leverages expertise to assist the Chief Pharmacy Officer with executing the strategic plan, achieving quality goals, and leading process improvement.  In addition to leveraging clinical knowledge, Lean Six Sigma principles will be applied to drive improvement in a systematic way.  The Pharmacist will be involved in project management, prioritization, and decision making in collaboration with the pharmacy leadership team to deliver on the department’s mission.

This position guides strategic plan execution and quality improvement initiatives across the pharmacy enterprise. This position facilitates the implementation and maintenance of the pharmacy strategic plan in collaboration with health system and pharmacy leadership. Other key functions include leading complex quality and process improvement projects; projects may be cross-functional and provide solutions with significant and long-term impact.

This position can be further summarized as follows:

  • Collaborates/interfaces with organizational, medical staff, and nursing leadership to execute pharmacy strategic plan and quality improvement initiatives
  • Represents the Department of Pharmacy to health system leadership by
  • Leads effective communication between stakeholders in strategic planning and associated projects (e.g. coordinates meetings, project teams, and work groups)
  • Develops, implements, and maintains processes for tracking and measuring outcomes of Department of Pharmacy initiatives, when applicable
  • Ensures continued progress within strategy and quality initiatives; identifies and mitigates risk associated with projects as needed
  • Supports the Ohio State University’s research and education missions


Additional Information:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy; Masters Degree; Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent; 6 years of relevant experience; all required.  PGY1, 2; 10 years of relevant experience; preferred.
