Position Summary
THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF ONE YEAR.
The UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is accepting applications for a full-time Social Worker for the Maternal Fetal Medicine clinics in Chapel Hill and Raleigh. This outpatient position includes working with an experienced and dedicated multidisciplinary care team supporting women on their healthcare journey. This position supports high-risk pregnant patients during the prenatal and postpartum period. The social worker provides compassionate care to individuals who have complex social, emotional, environmental and mental health needs that prevent them from addressing their healthcare needs. The clinical social worker provides social work support for patients in the clinic setting and collaborates with inpatient care managers and social workers, and community providers, to provide continuity of psychosocial support for the obstetrics patients. There will be a specific focus on employing interventions addressing Social Determinants of Health needs. This position is primarily based out of the Maternal Fetal Medicine clinics in Chapel Hill and Raleigh.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Creativity, flexibility, initiative, excellent time management, communication and organizational skills are required in this fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preferred candidates will be fully licensed with an LCSW and have experience working with in women’s health or medical social work.
