Your role will be crucial in every aspect of the employee lifecycle, from evaluating job descriptions to screening applications and conducting efficient hiring processes. You’ll work closely with colleagues, hiring managers, and department heads to meet our hiring objectives while ensuring alignment with Gonzaga’s Mission, EEO/Affirmative Action, and diversity initiatives.

The budgeted annual salary that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position is $70,000.
The internal full salary range is $65036- $87990.

  • Shows ownership of recruiting programs, processes and infrastructure to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the process and outstanding candidate experience; serve as the primary recruiter for all positions for projects and other key positions; Coordinates the on-boarding process with multiple departments and responsible parties to ensure a smooth on-boarding process.
  • Attracts, evaluates, and refers candidates for open positions through recruiting website, employee referrals, on-site recruiting, search firms and other sourcing methods. Develops job advertisements and screens resumes/applications. Contacts candidates to ascertain fit, and schedules interviews.
  • Talent prospecting (representing the organization at employment fairs, participating in campus recruiting activities, building sourcing pipelines/networks for targeted talent pools)
  • Ensures assigned positions are filled efficiently and effectively.
  • Talent evaluation and screening (e.g., analyzing resumes for relevant skills, knowledge, and qualifications, conducting screening interviews, assisting managers with interviews, testing/ranking candidates, checking references and providing feedback to unsuccessful candidates)
  • Job advertising and posting (e.g., developing job descriptions, posting on internal and external sites, providing specifications to external recruiting agencies, etc.)

  • Talent staffing and planning (e.g., forecasting future hiring needs, aligning hiring strategy to longer term workforce plans, analyzing market trends that impact labor supply & demand, etc.)
  • Extends offers. Initiates onboarding plan for new hires.
  • Facilitate orientation for new employees and perform exit interviews as needed for employees leaving the organization.
  • Monitors applicant pools, coordinating with hiring managers during open recruitments to evaluate adjusting recruiting strategies when necessary.
  • Works with applicants and hiring managers for completion of references and background checks.

  • Three (or more) year’s increasingly responsible experience, including specialized knowledge and skills in recruiting and onboarding.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail oriented and displays professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to and work efficiently with diverse groups from a variety of identities and backgrounds.
  • Skill in creating systems and processes that maintain order, efficiency and quality control
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment while promoting a sense of calm.

Physical / Environmental Qualifications
The functions are usually performed sitting but may involve some amount of time standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, walking, carrying, and reaching while filing and performing other duties.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Extensive wrist and hand movements related to computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs. occasionally required.
  • Ability to be mobile campus wide for appropriate business needs.
