Job Summary:


The Assistant Director for Events & Operations is responsible for leading all event planning and logistical aspects of an exemplary program of new student and family orientation and year-long transition programs designed to integrate students and their families into Gonzaga's Jesuit Catholic university community, promote belonging, and facilitate academic success and retention. These programs include, but are not limited to: New Student Orientation, Parent & Family Orientation, Welcome Weekend, and Fall Family Weekend. As a member of the New Student & Family Programs leadership team, the Assistant Director will develop and strengthen partnerships within and across divisions and work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to support inclusive programming for a diverse population of new students and families.
The budgeted annual salary that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position is $58211 – $58769.
The full internal range is $58211- $78755

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA + four (4) years of full-time professional work in college student affairs or eight (8) years of related professional work experience in college student affairs experience if substituting experience for education requirement.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery and assessment of programs and events for a diverse group of constituents.
  • Demonstrated organizational, leadership, communication, and public relations skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously; take initiative and able to think critically and creatively to solve problems.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a team focus.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and assess complex programs.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Comfort with learning and using new technology and/or experience with various forms of technology including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Banner, Microsoft Office, etc..
