Position Description:

The Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a creative and scholarly leader to serve as full time Section Chief for Adolescent Medicine.  The Section Chief will be responsible for leading the clinical, educational, community, and research missions of a comprehensive academic adolescent medicine program.  This is a clinical faculty position offering an academic appointment at the Medical College of Wisconsin commensurate with experience.   

This position, the Section Chief of Adolescent Medicine at MCW, requires someone who excels in a highly visible leadership position. Desired characteristics include the ability to develop young clinicians into our future leaders in Pediatrics, administering section academic infrastructure and finances, administratively managing a high volume of diverse adolescent medicine service and developing a culture of high team accountability and professionalism across the whole of the enterprise.

The individual selected for this position will be an enthusiastic, energic and high eIQ leader. Responsibilities for the position include successfully executing a vision for programmatic excellence and growth in all the pediatric enterprise’s missions (clinical care, education, research, community service) while responsibly administrating the section’s finances.

As Section Chief of Adolescent Medicine, this individual will report to the Chair of Pediatrics.  

Position Requirements:

Ideal qualifications for this candidate include a M.D. or D.O, successful completion of an approved pediatric residency training program, board certification in Pediatrics, eligibility for a Wisconsin Medical License, 5 years of experience in academic pediatrics and the ability to foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a matrixed diverse environment.  Further qualifications that will poise the candidate for favorable consideration include successful completion of an adolescent medicine fellowship.
