The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Biomedical Engineering, is seeking a is seeking a Scientist II.

General Responsibilities  

  • To employ a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in a particular field of specialization.
  • To plan, design, and conduct research and present findings.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Performs experiments using the fly system to understand neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Conducts experiments using genetics, molecular biology, neurobiology, and biochemistry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Annual Salary Range   $74,100.00 - $120,700.00 

     

    Qualifications

     
    • Doctor of Philosophy, D.V.M. or M.D. degree in a related field and four (4) years of related experience
    • OR M.D. and Master's degree and two (2) years of related experience
    • OR Master's degree and six (6) years of related experience
    • OR Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of related experience

    Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. 

     

    Preferences

    • Degree in a biological science preferred.
