Salary Range: $25-$30 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is depending on the availability of state appropriated funding per fiscal year. The total expected funding for this position in any given fiscal year is approximately $3,000.

Summary:

The Rural Healthcare Workforce Track Coordinator provides leadership and oversight of awarded state funds to support students from rural and frontier counties in Colorado who are pursuing a nursing program option as determined in the program. The coordinator position is contingent on continuation of state-appropriated funds and is appointed by the Department Chair for Nursing. The position works with a faculty work group to prepare a budget according to requirements, recruit and select students for the rural track, determine clinical placements in rural and frontier areas, and monitor the status of students and their completion of the requirements for the program.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare agenda and chair the meetings of the rural healthcare workforce working group.
  • Prepare the budget for the track as outlined by the state appropriated funds.
  • Serve as liaison between Johnson Beth-El and the lead for the state appropriated funds.
  • Compile the student applications for the rural health funds and consult with the working group on student selection.
  • Prepare ongoing communications for students on the application process, status of application, and status of completion of requirements as outlined in the state appropriated funds.
  • Monitor the educational modules on the CORHWI website and add any new modules to the list for UCCS students.
  • Monitor the Johnson Beth-El website for application submission and request any needed changes.
  • Serve as an advocate for continuation of the funds during the Colorado Legislative process.
  • Pursue opportunities for clinical placements in rural/frontier counties of Colorado for nursing students selected for the track.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire:

  • Doctoral degree in nursing (DNP, PhD) or related field; Master's Degree in Nursing (if doctoral degree is not in nursing); current RN licensure in the state of Colorado
  • 2 years of teaching experience
  • 2 years of nursing practice experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing a budget
  • Experience in a rural or frontier practice setting

Physical Requirements:

While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to move. Tasks may involve using a computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
