Job Description
Scope of Position: The Revenue Cycle for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is responsible for providing excellent customer service while processing patient demographic and insurance information efficiently and accurately. Areas within the Revenue Cycle include pre-registration, registration, pre-certification, financial clearance and counseling, financial assistance, scheduling, billing, claims follow-up, customer service and cash collection. The primary responsibility of staff with the Revenue Cycle is to ensure the collection of net revenue for services rendered. Position Summary: The Resource Planning Analyst is considered a high level expert for a wide variety of functions. Daily functions revolve around the analyzation of cash posting processes that include, but are not limited to: payment reconciliation, refund/credit processing, insurance clearings, technical support for sites within and outside the Medical Center, bank file review & retrieval, escalated payor issues and special projects.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, HealthCare Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Patient Financial Services or Financial Analysis, preferably in a healthcare environment. Knowledge of professional billing and hospital billing is preferred as well as an understanding of all aspects of the Revenue Cycle. Advanced spreadsheet proficiency is required, and knowledge of EPIC is preferred. Ability to synthesize information and concisely communicate verbally or in writing is essential. Applicant must have prior experience with process improvement, the analyzation of data and must be able to work independently and on a team.
