A full-time Research Technologist 1 (NE S SEIU 925 RT) position is available in the Yang lab at the University of Washington. The lab focuses on generating and utilizing pluripotent stem cell and primate models to dissect the cellular and molecular mechanisms of human development and reproductive and obstetric complications, including infertility, miscarriage, preeclampsia, etc. The candidate will carry out the research work under the supervision of Assistant Professor Min Yang within the Center for Reproductive Sciences at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine.

The job responsibility includes performing laboratory investigative work in support of studies in the lab.  The candidate should be able to work with cell/tissue culture and molecular bench work including, DNA and RNA isolations, PCR reactions, molecular cloning, western blot, etc. The successful candidate also needs to be interested in learning the imaging analyzing skill and analysis of higher-level data derived from RNA sequencing, and single-cell transcriptome sequencing. The successful candidate will also assist Dr. Yang with mentoring new trainees.

This position will be located at the South Lake Union campus of UW Medicine, a bastion of stem cell research in the innovative center of Seattle. The candidate needs to show strong enthusiasm for their work; will be detail-oriented, reliable, and highly organized; possesses a high degree of accountability for the quality of work performed; can work independently after a reasonable amount of training; has excellent technical skills.
