Position Summary
UNC Genetics Department laboratory is seeking a Research Technician with an interest in science, genetics, diabetes or genome analysis. The applicant will be responsible for RNA quantification followed by cDNA synthesis and droplet digital PCR to quantify gene expression.
This could be someone with a BA or BS undergraduate degree in a discipline such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Psychology.

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Research experience
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Practical experience with research projects or with accomplishing team-oriented goals. Work experience of any sort helpful. 
Preferred skills/education: Practical experience with studying or solving scientific problems would be helpful. Ability to think critically, to learn deeply about a subject, an enjoyment of accomplishing challenging tasks, or an interest in understanding how life works would be helpful. Familiarity with genetic laboratory bench techniques would be helpful. Experience with cell biology, genome modification or biochemical approaches to studying scientific problems would be helpful.
