The College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) is one of the largest academic units on the UW Seattle campus, employing over 1400 tenure-track and research faculty, in 43 departments and centers, and generating an average $120 million dollars in sponsored research each year. The I-LABS has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Study Assistant

Coordinate and perform work in support of behavioral and neuroscience research studies involving human subjects.

Perform varied support functions in support of research studies involving human subjects.

Under supervision of the PI and Research Coordinator, perform varied support functions requiring knowledge and skills specific to the research study. Recruit and screen prospective participants according to aims of research study. Revise and support data collection procedures according to aims of research study. Gather and compile data; assist in developing and setting up database files, quality assurance on data, and performing statistical calculations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Generate and maintain recruitment procedures for new study participants.
• Serve as primary contact with study participants; answer participants’ questions regarding study protocol; notify appropriate research personnel regarding problems or complications reported by participants.
• Screen prospective participants to determine eligibility according to research criteria.
• Maintain and revise data collection schedule for all associated lab members and participants.
• Prepare and test experimental materials and procedures.
• Maintain experimental equipment; perform quality assurance on data collection equipment; inventory and order supplies.
• Establish, maintain, and revise safety precautions for in person data collection.
• Perform technical tasks such as the performing data collection using Electroencephalography devices.
• Perform behavioral data collection of experimental participants.
• Gather, record, organize, monitor, and verify the accuracy of all data collection and provide ongoing quality monitoring.
• Lead Research Assistant activities including but not limited to training, routinely overseeing tasks, monitor data collection, and evaluation.
• Coordinate team communication; provide regular study updates to Principle Investigator.
• Assist the Principle investigator in developing policies and procedures around the research protocols.
• Assist Principle Investigator in evaluation of experimental findings.
• Creation and implementation of analysis procedures.
• Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Two years of college-level course work in Psychology or Cognitive Science area AND one year of appropriate experience OR equivalent education/experience.

Equivalent education/experience can substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
