The Freedman Lab in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, is seeking a Research Scientist (Research Scientist/Engineer 3 (E S UAW RSE)) to lead projects using human pluripotent stem cells to develop new treatments for kidney disease, under the general guidance/supervision of Associate Professor Benjamin Freedman. The Research Scientist will combine stem cell culture and differentiation with bioengineering, microfluidics, and pre-clinical animal models to build next-generation models of human kidney regeneration and disease. This position will be responsible for contributing to preparation of reports, papers, presentations and new proposals.  He/she will contribute to positive colleague and investigator relationships through interactions on current grants. The successful applicant will also assist Dr. Freedman with mentoring of trainees. Experience with animals is a plus.

This position will be located at South Lake Union campus of UW Medicine, a bastion of stem cell research in the innovative center of Seattle. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, highly organized, possess a high degree of accountability for quality of work performed, can work independently and has excellent technical skills.
