Job Summary | Our laboratory investigates the biology and targeted therapy of myeloid blood cancers, particularly myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), MDS/MPN overlap syndromes and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Under minimal supervision, the successful applicant will help oversee the scientific direction and progress of the laboratory, design experimental studies, perform advanced level molecular biology techniques, mentor/supervise lab members and trainees, assist with grant-writing and figure/manuscript preparation, and enforce laboratory rules and regulations. The candidate will be under the supervision of the laboratory PI but will be expected to work independently, manage their own project, and train / mentor junior-level trainees and staff. Responsibilities | Additional Qualifications Fluency in English and effective communication skills also required. Master’s or Ph. D. in relevant area of study is strongly preferred (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline). We will also consider exceptionally qualified bachelor’s or master’s degree scientists with 5+ years of in-depth laboratory experience. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or other scientific discipline in a related field plus four years of experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
